Diverse Landscape

Butte Valley is home to a large agriculture community for farming and agriculture. Our high mountain dessert volcanic soil is the perfect location for raising cold weather crops such as onions, potatoes, carrots,  garlic, alfalfa hay and various rye hay.  We also have the largest production of strawberry plant starters in the United State.  Ranches raise cattle, goats,  sheep, and poultry.  We are an AG focused community and host our very own Tulelake/Butte Valley fair that is a small family oriented and takes place in the second weekend of September.
